RUDY REUDIGER

A Karamürsel Survivor

" My Life after Karamusel, Dick Ruediger" (Aug 59/Feb61)

After 18 months of copying code and working direction finding for the lustrous DOG Flight, I shipped out to Shaw AFB in South Carolina. . I was assigned to an Air Police Squadron and handled all traffic tickets and traffic accidents on the base. I became very popular when someone wanted a ticket fixed.
I was discharged on 1 Oct 1962 and went to work for AVCO Corp, which is now called Textron. I've worked here for over 36 years and hope to retire from here in 5 years. I work for the Specialty Materials Division and our claim to fame is, we developed and installed the heat shield material that went on all the Apollo space capsules. I'm now in a high temperature metals group and we're developing new material for military aircraft, space shuttles, sporting goods, etc.
I've been married twice. I have two children and 3 grandchildren from my first marriage, and two stepchildren and 1 grandchild from my second marriage. My wife Gladys and I live in Methuen Massachusetts and are working towards our retirement. My stepson lives with us and will be getting his Masters Degree in June and is getting married a year from then.
I try to stay active by Skiing as much as possible in the winter and bowling in a league once a week. I played softball in the industrial league for 35 years. I retired from the league last year ... 60 years old and slowing down. I haven't tried golf yet.   I think that's next. I really enjoy our round-robin mail list and I hope it continues forever.
I think our goal should be a REUNION. My e-mail addresses are:
