Peterstown, WV –
Marcel J. “Joe” Galuszek age 81 passed
away, Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at Princeton
Community Hospital,
Princeton, WV. Born, April 26, 1929 at Chicago, IL
he was the son of Wladyslaw and Josefa
Siwek Galuszek. Joe was
retired from the U.S. Air Force as Chief Master Sergeant where he served in
the Korean War and earned two Silver Stars. He had also worked for the Monroe
County Sheriff’s Department for over 32 years, was a member of the Holy
Family Catholic Church, Pearisburg,
VA and was a member of the
Narrows VFW Post 6000. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by
his wife Joann Galuszek, a daughter, Patricia
Elaine Galuszek and three brothers. Survivors
include three sons, Robert S. Galuszek of
Peterstown, WV and Joseph E. Galuszek of Princeton,
WV and C. Eric Galuszek of Lafayette, LA, four
daughters, Dorothy M. Laframboise of Lakeland, FL,
Janet Ann Humes-Schwartz of LaGrande,
OR, Karen L. Galuszek of Peterstown, WV and Anita
Jo Galuszek of Birmingham, AL, ten grandchildren,
twelve great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will
be 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 30, 2010 at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral
Home Chapel, Peterstown, WV with Fr. John A. Prinelli
officiating. A military service will follow at the funeral home by: Pembroke
VFW Post 311, Narrows VFW Post 6000, Narrows American Legion Post 68 and
Peterstown Rowe Jones Post 145. The family will have a Rosary at 5:00 PM.
Friends may call from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Friday, October 29, 2010 at the
funeral home. It was Joe’s wish to be cremated. The family suggests
donations of sympathy be made to the American Cancer Society, Monroe
Community, PO Box 873, Charleston, WV 25323-0873 or to the St. Joseph’s
Indian School, PO Box 100, Chamberlain, SD 57325-0100. Online guestbook can
